Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate and resolve complaints and disputes with accuracy and timeliness.
- Conduct thorough investigations into complex fraud cases, utilizing a range of investigative tools and techniques including data analysis, loan material review, accounting, and research.
- Work through the details of each matter methodically, drawing on diverse investigative sources to establish what happened, who was involved, and what the appropriate next steps should be.
- Draft clear, professional legal responses and recommendations for the team.
- Dig into data with a discerning eye, spotting irregularities and emerging patterns that signal potential fraud and building a well-documented evidentiary trail to support conclusions.
- Support training efforts and assist teams regarding fraud and complaint investigation functions.
- Contribute to special projects and adapt to evolving priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

What We’re Looking For:
- Experienced investigator. You bring at least three years of complaint handling and fraud investigation experience, gained in a corporate or financial services context is a plus, and you understand the regulatory environment well enough to apply it confidently to the cases in front of you. Experience with handling BBB complaints, customer complaints and other reviews is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with lending regulations. These include UDAAP, FCRA and FDCPA.
- Analytically sharp. You have a trained eye for patterns and outliers, and you are comfortable working with data analysis tools.
- Skilled communicator. You present complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences with clarity, confidence, and professionalism, both verbally and in writing.
- Tech proficient. You work confidently across Microsoft Office and are experienced with investigative platforms and data tools relevant to fraud detection and case management.
- Discreet and principled. You operate with the highest ethical standards, handle sensitive case information with care, and maintain confidentiality throughout every stage of an investigation.
- Adaptable. You manage your workload independently, pivot when priorities shift, and bring a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset to every challenge.
The hourly listed reflects the anticipated compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, location, business considerations, and internal equity. Final offer amounts are determined at the employer’s discretion.
