This esteemed international law firm is seeking an experienced, legal professional with exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills for their Practice Group Manager opening in the D.C. office. In this role you will act as an indispensable operational partner to senior firm leadership, driving strategic initiatives, practice administration, business planning, and cross-functional integration across the firm. The ideal candidate combines robust problem-solving capabilities with exceptional interpersonal skills to seamlessly liaise between practice groups and administrative departments. Operating with an inherent sense of service and urgency, you will oversee everything from custom financial reporting and AI operationalization to utilization tracking, lateral associate onboarding, and client ROI reporting, ensuring practice operations run at peak efficiency and align with firmwide goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cultivate collaborative partnerships with practice leaders, partners, and legal staff to align daily operations with overarching group objectives.
- Oversee end-to-end administration for practice group activities, including planning meetings, preparing presentation materials, and managing key documentation.
- Partner with practice leadership and finance teams to design customized, actionable performance and operational reporting.
- Drive strategic planning and growth initiatives informed by ongoing industry research, market trends, and firmwide priorities.
- Champion cross-functional special projects and firmwide programs, such as implementing AI-driven operational tools and tracking cross-practice referrals in tandem with Business Development.
- Collaborate with marketing to author post-engagement client value reports that highlight service efficiency, ROI, and delivery innovations.
- Serve as a primary operational liaison between practice groups and core administrative functions like L&D, Knowledge Management, and Finance.
- Evaluate workload utilization data to guide talent management, forecasting hiring needs and facilitating seamless recruiting, onboarding, and lateral integration.
