Staff Attorney

Northern Virginia/Hybrid

$130,000 – $160,000

Are you an experienced Staff Attorney with a passion for producing excellent work product? As a Staff Attorney with a growing mid-sized law firm, you will assist attorneys throughout the entire litigation life cycle, with a specific focus on reviewing, editing, and cite-checking briefs for their busy appellate practice. Our client is seeking a precise and dedicated Staff Attorney who is highly collaborative, operates with professionalism, and is eager to contribute to intricate cases spanning multiple industries and jurisdictions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly review all citations for various legal documents to confirm accuracy of relevant details such as names, quotations, and prior procedural history.
  • Review and identify relevant documents for litigation matters, assist with preparing case summaries, research reports, and other internal documentation.
  • Manage an organized tracking system for documenting citation verification across multiple cases, keeping all information easily accessible.
  • Conduct legal research and assist with preparing and filing case documents, closely monitoring relevant developments.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of legal citation rules, formats, and guidelines across multiple jurisdictions and court systems.
  • Assist attorneys with preparing for oral arguments, hearings, trials, and other litigation support tasks as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experienced. You have at least ten (10) years of relevant experience and graduated from law school. Active DC bar license required.
  • Diligent with details. You take pride in your meticulous approach to tasks and are committed to producing high quality, accurate work. The smallest details do not go unnoticed.
  • Technologically skilled. You are digitally adept and can operate across a variety of software systems including Microsoft Office Suite and Westlaw KeyCite.
  • Self-starter. You are proactive and can work independently to manage competing deadlines and priorities.
