Litigation Paralegal

Washington, D.C./Hybrid

$110,000 – $135,000

This prominent international firm is seeking an accomplished Litigation Paralegal to provide comprehensive support throughout all phases of complex litigation, including case management, discovery, witness preparation, trial and arbitration activities, and legal research and document preparation. This role provides the opportunity to oversee and mentor junior paralegals and support staff while also being responsible for maintaining case files and calendaring systems, developing and implementing efficient processes for document organization and retrieval, and coordinating with attorneys, support staff, courts, government agencies, experts, vendors, and other external parties. Success in this role requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills, adaptability, and a high level of confidentiality, polish, and commitment to high-quality work and service for the firm, clients, and community.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of litigation case management, including file organization, discovery, trial and arbitration support, and implementation of effective systems for document organization, retrieval, and case calendaring.
  • Lead discovery and witness preparation efforts and support attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, from discovery through trial or arbitration.
  • Coordinate and oversee the work of junior paralegals and support staff on complex litigation matters and investigations, ensuring case-specific services meet the expectations of the attorney team.
  • Develop, refine, and implement processes, systems, and procedures that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of litigation support and case management.
  • Serve as a liaison between attorneys, paralegals, support staff, and external parties, including courts, government agencies, experts, corporations, vendors, and other law firms.
  • Draft, review, analyze routine legal documents and conduct legal research.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior paralegals, continuously develop professional skills, and adhere to firm policies and priorities while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality, discretion, and integrity.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Well versed in litigation. You have at least five years of prior experience as a paralegal supporting full cycle litigation. Experience in a top-tier, large law firm is required and candidates currently holding a bachelor’s degree and or paralegal certificate will stand out!
  • Technology go-to. Strong technology and Bluebook cite checking skills will be essential to success in this role. You are highly skilled and have excellent knowledge of the applications of Microsoft Office, Relativity, Nuix Discover, LexisNexis, Westlaw, Adobe Acrobat, e-filing, and document management tools.
  • Calm, cool, collected, and confidential. You are actively seeking a high-pressure environment and are eager for the opportunity to put your organizational skills, time management, and meticulousness to the test. You embrace the importance of accuracy and discretion when executing daily tasks.
  • Overtime and on the go. You are flexible and available to work outside core business hours when the job calls for it. This role is seeking someone who is team-oriented and willing to adapt and travel as needed.

 

The salary listed reflects the anticipated compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, location, business considerations, and internal equity. Final offer amounts are determined at the employer’s discretion.
