HR Generalist

A product manufacturing firm is looking for an HR Generalist for their Washington, DC location. Join a team of trailblazers and bring your HR expertise to the table! The right candidate will have both a proven track record of HR skills and the right personality to manage onsite staff, help with talent development, and implement corporate HR strategy.

 

About the Job:

  • Establish and maintain department records and reports; recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency and services performed.
  • Manage workers’ compensation injury claims.
  • File reports with insurance provider, maintain accident information and monitor progress.
  • Answer questions regarding eligibility, salaries, benefits and other pertinent information.
  • Responsible for maintaining all federal, state, and local compliance and applying all HR policies and company guidelines.
  • Ensure company compliance to include employee handbook overview, policies, employment documents, and benefit enrollment.
  • In coordination with HR Director, take appropriate disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Manage recruitment for production facility to include reviewing resumes, conducting phone screens, scheduling interviews, collaborating with hiring managers, and extending offers.
  • Answer questions regarding eligibility, salaries, benefits and other pertinent information.

About You:

  • Knowledgeable. You have a minimum of 4 years of HR experience on a busy team, a bachelor’s degree in hand, and ideally a PHR.
  • Resourceful. You are a self-starter and take initiative to help implement new policies and procedures.
  • People-minded. You are approachable and strive to build an amazing workplace culture.
  • Articulate. You communicate well with others – both verbally and in-writing.
  • Embrace technology. You possess strong MS Office skills, you’re familiar with HRIS systems and you can learn new systems quickly.
  • Driven. You enjoy being challenged and want to commit yourself to a company with opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
  • Discrete. You have experience working with sensitive and confidential employee information.
