Development Director with Non-Profit Organization

Washington, DC/Remote

Flexible – Depends on Experience

As the Development Director with this growing non-profit organization, you will lead the organization’s fundraising and development efforts. Your expertise in fundraising will be utilized to cultivate and maintain donor relationships. The ideal candidate thrives in a start-up culture and easily pivots from assignment to assignment. You must have a can-do attitude, the ability to handle multiple projects, strong oral and written communication skills, and a keen eye for detail. The right candidate has a strong awareness of campaign fundraising, corporative giving, and grant management.

 

About the Job:

  • Work with leadership to ensure proper execution of fundraising programs
  • Identify and secure grant opportunities
  • Track all incoming and outstanding donations and properly report on current and future numbers
  • Create and edit all fundraising materials for donor meetings
  • Establish bi-yearly development plans for the team and Board of Directors
  • Manage call time and meeting schedules on behalf of the leadership team

About You:

  • Experienced. You have at least five years of experience in grant management, foundation relationships and political/campaign fundraising.
  • Professional. You have excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to manage high-level principals and VIPs
  • You have the ability to manage short- and long-term projects with ongoing deadlines.
  • You always have a back-up plan and can adjust quickly to sudden change.
  • You enjoy being the go-to person for all needs and can multitask in order to make sure things run smoothly.
