Communications Legal Assistant – DC Law Firm

Washington, D.C.

Flexible – Depends on Experience

As the Legal Assistant to the firm’s busy practice group, you will support client development initiatives and project-based tasks in a busy DC Law Firm. As an extension of the Practice Group Manager, you will play a critical role in preparing agency filings and track regulatory and legislative activities related to cases. In addition to assisting with exciting legal work and helping attorneys finalize critical documents, you will also be called on to present findings at weekly team meetings. Candidates with a strong interest in law who are looking to transition into a legal environment that endorses stability and a supportive culture should submit their resume for immediate consideration.

 

About the Job

  • Assist attorneys with regulatory research, document review, and case management.
  • Prepare detailed summaries of findings and present information to attorneys.
  • Support various projects and initiatives while adhering to strict deadlines and ensuring that work is produced at the highest standards.
  • Create and edit writing projects on behalf of the firm.

About You

  • This paralegal role requires a Bachelor’s degree and a high GPA.
  • Writing and editing-whiz. You can clearly express ideas in your writing and spot grammatical errors in documents. Strong writing and editing skills are essential.
  • It’s essential that you possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • You know how critical quality work is to a legal case. Organization and an eye for detail are key.
  • Database savvy. You have extensive experience working with databases and feel comfortable navigating through software on a daily basis.
