Legal Assistant/Office Manager (One Firm, Multiple Openings!)

An established boutique law firm headquartered in Washington, DC, is seeking a dedicated, hardworking professional to join their team in a blended Legal Assistant/Office Manager role. This position provides essential substantive legal and administrative support to a committed, mission-driven group of attorneys. The ideal candidate is both intellectually capable and highly resourceful, with the flexibility, initiative, and organizational skills needed to balance multiple priorities and competing deadlines. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys supporting attorneys across a range of responsibilities while contributing to legal and social causes that make a meaningful difference for clients.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support attorneys in organizing and maintaining detailed legal documents, case files, and critical court deadlines.
  • Manage office supply orders, coordinate with third-party vendors, and process expense reports.
  • Record and maintain documentation of attorney phone calls, emails, and other correspondence.
  • Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings and appointments, and coordinate travel arrangements.
  • Conduct legal research, prepare legal documents, draft complex court filings, and track relevant case deadlines.
  • Provide additional administrative assistance as needed, including supporting the firm’s public-facing marketing efforts, coordinating team events, and handling special projects involving both legal and non-legal matters.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Educated and mission aligned. You have a bachelor’s degree from a top university with a minimum 3.5 GPA and a demonstrated commitment to social justice, accountability, and advocacy within the legal profession. At least one (1) year of prior legal experience is required.
  • Detail-oriented. You have stellar attention to detail and a strong understanding of the importance of accuracy and precision in legal matters.
  • Collaborative and communicative. You love being a member of a team and working towards a common goal. Strong communication and problem-solving skills will be essential for success in this role.
  • Eager to learn. You are adaptable, committed to continuous learning, and are seeking an environment that offers exposure, and mentorship from seasoned legal professionals.

 

The salary listed reflects the anticipated compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, location, business considerations, and internal equity. Final offer amounts are determined at the employer’s discretion.
