This startup in Northern Virginia is seeking a professional with benefits and payroll expertise to step in and support a rapidly-growing workforce. As the Payroll and Benefits Manager, this role offers the full spectrum of HR tasks with a special emphasis on payroll and benefits elements, such as compliance, tracking work hours, processing paychecks, employee data and more. Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate cross-departmental employee hiring, onboarding, documentation and communication, partnering with the team to move searches forward efficiently.
- Maintain and administer HR systems, ensuring employee records, reporting, and benefits data are accurate and up to date via hard-copy and data systems.
- Follow-through on questions regarding benefits, company-specific policies and general inbound inquiries.
- Assist employees through the process of benefits based on their requested needs, especially during open enrollment.
- Edit and update employee records including salary changes, address changes, name changes, etc.
- Support leave administration and ensure compliance with applicable employment regulations.
- Play a dynamic role in supporting the team, serving as a liaison with internal and external contacts.
- Consistently audit processes to have the best foot forward and evaluate for further improvement.

- Degreed and HR proficient. You have a bachelor’s degree in hand and at least three years of HR experience, preferably with an understanding for multi-state compliance.

The salary listed reflects the anticipated compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, location, business considerations, and internal equity. Final offer amounts are determined at the employer’s discretion.
