Legal Assistant for Litigation Team
Baltimore, MD/Hybrid
$60,000 – $90,000
An established law firm is looking for a Legal Assistant to become an indispensable part of its litigation practice group, supporting a team of attorneys who depend on precision, reliability, and someone who genuinely takes pride in the craft of legal support. You notice what others overlook. A missed deadline, a formatting inconsistency, a filing that’s one click away from being lost, nothing slips past you. If you bring the kind of quiet confidence that keeps a fast-paced litigation practice humming, and you take real pride in the work behind the work, this is worth a closer look!
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a steady administrative resource for multiple litigation attorneys, keeping filings, deadlines, and day-to-day practice needs moving forward with accuracy and care.
- Handle electronic filings in federal and state courts, navigating jurisdiction-specific requirements with confidence and precision.
- Draft documents and materials for pleadings, discovery materials, and other legal documents, and prepare outgoing correspondence across a variety of delivery methods.
- Manage attorney calendars and docket critical case dates, court deadlines, and client-related milestones, ensuring nothing is missed.
- Maintain well-organized electronic and physical files in alignment with firm standards, supporting easy retrieval and long-term record integrity.
- Proofread documents thoroughly for formatting, grammar, punctuation, and accuracy before they leave the desk.
- Coordinate travel, meetings, and conference logistics, including meeting materials and technology setup, along with expense and reimbursement processing.
- Stay organized, manage incoming assignments, and step in as a reliable resource for colleagues during peak periods or planned absences.
Why You’ll Love Working Here:
- A growing national firm committed to delivery strong service to clients and staff.
- Competitive compensation and benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and more.
- Following completion of training, this role is eligible for a hybrid work model.
What We’re Looking For:
- Rooted in litigation. You bring at least five years of experience as a Legal Assistant, with direct experience supporting litigation attorneys.
- A filing pro. You have hands-on experience with e-filing in federal and state courts.
- Detail obsessed. You catch errors before they become problems, and you take genuine pride in producing work that is accurate, polished, and complete.
- Tech proficient. You are highly comfortable across the Microsoft Office Suite and adapt quickly to new platforms and firm-specific tools.
- A skilled communicator. You interact with attorneys, clients, and colleagues with professionalism, warmth, and discretion, in-person, by phone, and in writing.
- A dependable teammate. You show up for your colleagues, contribute to a shared workload during busy stretches, and help maintain a practice group that runs like clockwork.
