Senior Business Development Manager (One Day Onsite/Week)

Northern Virginia/Hybrid

$180,000 – $200,000

A specialized law firm in Northern Virginia is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to drive high-value business development initiatives, manage strategic pursuits, and elevate the client experience. This role partners closely with the CMO and senior firm leadership to advance key opportunities and execute programs that strengthen client relationships. Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and advance high-value client and prospect opportunities through targeted research, BD briefings, and strategic outreach materials.
  • Manage end-to-end pitches, proposals, and RFP responses, serving as project manager to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
  • Lead planning and execution of major industry conferences and sponsored events, including pre-event logistics, sponsorship deliverables, and post-event follow-up.
  • Design and manage client-facing programs such as alerts, webinars, CLEs, and education campaigns in collaboration with subject-matter experts.
  • Maintain and enhance BD assets including attorney bios and experience summaries.
  • Manage opportunity tracking, dashboards, and BD reporting, using client and market data to inform strategy and decision-making.
  • Ensure CRM data accuracy and segmentation.
  • Partner with the CMO and senior timekeepers on key BD initiatives and handle sensitive matters with sound judgment and discretion.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Industry knowledge. Experience in eDiscovery, data privacy, information governance, or AI governance is strongly preferred. Law firm experience is required.
  • Proposals expert. You have directly managed complex RFP responses and strategic proposals from start to finish and can point to results.
  • Event savvy. You have planned and executed major industry conferences and sponsored events, including all pre- and post-event coordination.
  • Client program builder. You have developed and managed client-facing programs such as webinars, CLEs, or thought leadership content.
  • CRM proficient. You are comfortable managing BD analytics, opportunity tracking, and CRM systems with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Exceptional communicator. Your writing, research, and analytical skills are strong, and you can produce compelling, tailored materials under deadline.
  • Discreet and professional. You exercise sound judgment and handle sensitive matters with care.
