Director of Conferences & Education

Montgomery County, MD/Hybrid
$95,000 – $125,000

This association is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Director of Conferences & Education to execute on strategy, planning, and facilitation of educational programs and major events. This role will oversee both content development and event logistics, ensuring offerings are innovative, relevant, and aligned with the organization’s mission. Partnering closely with leadership, the Director will manage a talented team and guide initiatives that engage members, elevate professional development, and strengthen the organization’s position in its industry.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and delivery of in-person and virtual conferences, webinars, and other educational events.
  • Ensure all programs align with the association’s strategic goals and meet member needs.
  • Oversee event budgets and financial tracking needs, deadline management and membership attendance and engagement, ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Manage staff responsible for event logistics and education program coordination. Provide professional growth opportunities and supervisory feedback to ensure top performance metrics.
  • Drive innovation in program design, technology integration, and delivery methods.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to encourage educational offerings and maximize content reach.
  • Maintain compliance related to continuing education requirements.
  • Monitor program effectiveness using analytics, feedback, and data performance metrics.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Academic and qualified. A Bachelor’s degree in hand with at least ten years of Director-level continuing education and events experience; candidates with advanced degrees are preferred.
  • Proven leader. Strong supervisory skills with a positive track record of managing teams and complex projects.
  • Master meeting coordinator. Proficiency in event and learning technologies, along with budget management expertise.
  • Accreditation-aware. You have strong knowledge of continuing education standards.
  • Accessible. You are able to travel for events, and adjust your schedule to meet program needs.
